Acne Treatment . . .

acne treatment
It seems the most important factor in all succesfull treatment is getting started quickly. The other factor seems to be that usually a combination of approaches will provide the best acne treatment.

Home treatment for acne needs to include skin care, attention to diet and, if possible, being aware of any stressful factors. Very often just small adjustments, such as improved hygeine - perhaps using a facewash specially formulated for acne - plus improving the diet to help the body's natural hormone balancing and infection fighting mechanisms, as well as minimising stress where possible can actually produce almost miraculous results.

If you are looking for free acne treatment, then improved hygeine and diet, plus some mild exercise in the fresh air are about the best you can get.

Additionally girls can ensure they use only non-oily makeup and boys can take steps to ensure they are not aggravating their acne by the way they are shaving.

If however, even with these lifestyle changes, the acne is still a major issue, then it is time to consult a dermatologist. The best acne treatments for more severe cases, can often be a combination of medication, and topical solutions that can only be prescribed by a medico. Sometimes just a course of antibiotics can clear up an otherwise stubborn breakout, and once the infection is cleared the condition can be much more easily managed. There are also hormone medications that can be prescribed, that may provide relief.

Other acne treatments include:

1. Laser therapy - or light therapy for acne

Acne laser treatment works by placing the instrument over the acne itself and sending light beneath the skin. This light stimulates the bodys natural ability to fight infection, resulting in an improvement of the current breakout and reducing future breakouts. Unfortunately there is no standard result, and while some patients are fortunate enough to get a huge improvement for a long period of time, others see little improvement, or improvement that does not last long. Also some patients get results with very few treatments, whereas others need continuing treatment to get any real results. So unfortunately treating acne with laser therapy is a little hit and miss in terms of results.

2. Over the counter acne remedies

There are a whole range of over-the-counter products available. It is often a case of trial and error to find the best one for each person, so sometimes patience and perseverance are needed to find the best acne treatment for each person.

3. Herbal remedies

Tea tree oil is often helpful due to its antiseptic and antibiotic properties. There are also many other herbs that have been found helpful, so if you have a trained herbalist in your local area, it could be well worth making an appointment.

4. Oxygene treatment

The basis of this treatment is to infuse extra oxygen into the skin, thereby stimulating it to heal itself. There are a lot of different treatments and applications using this principle, and results are varied, but if you have a practitioner in your area, it may be worth a consultation t find out if they have developed an application for acne.
